Today, the NWRHA joins the international community in commemorating World Cancer Day 2019.
This year for World Cancer Day, the Pan American Health Organization concentrates on the topic of cervical cancer with the theme 'Create a future without cervical cancer.'
Though it is one of the most common cancers among women in Latin America and the Caribbean, cervical cancer is preventable. Its primary cause is the infection with high-risk human papilloma viruses (HPV). The HPV vaccine and the screening and treatment of precancerous lesions can prevent cervical cancer.
The NWRHA encourages every female to do their part in the fight against cervical cancer by getting screened. Early detection saves lives! Please find the NWRHA's cervical cancer screening schedule below.
